Is Coaching the
Same as Counseling or Therapy?
No, coaching is different. With counseling or therapy, the focus is on dealing with
past "issues" and psychological conditions. With life coaching, the focus is on
deciding what you want to change now and in the future, and getting some support
to help you accomplish that.

I'm Not Sure What I
Want, Can Coaching Help?
Frequently, this is the reason a client contacts me. You may know you want a change
in your life, but don't know exactly what you want. As your coach, I can help you
figure that out and get you moving in a powerful new direction.

What Are Other Reasons People
Hire a Coach?
Besides helping you figure out what you want out of life, there are a variety of
reasons clients hire me as their coach, but here are some of the most common. To
...
- Have someone really listen to you
- Get an objective perspective from someone who knows the right questions to ask
- Explore reasons why you hold yourself back
- Have someone support and encourage you and be your cheerleader
- Help keep you accountable and moving forward

What Kind of Topics are Covered
in Coaching Sessions?
Building self-care and self-confidence are the themes that carry through all our
sessions. Other areas I can support you in include learning how to:
- Prioritize what’s really important to you.
- Prevent burnout, reduce stress and overwhelm, and add more fun to your life.
- Move past limiting behaviors of perfectionism and procrastination.
- Put yourself on your priority list without feeling guilty.
- Stop worrying about what others think and value what you think.
- Stop putting yourself down, complaining, or making excuses.
- Communicate in an empowered way to effectively say what you want to say.
- Live intentionally instead of by default – to respond instead of react.
- Understand and master limiting fears so you can live in freedom.
- Trust and believe in yourself.
- Get clear, focused, and unstuck.

How are Coaching Sessions Done?
Coaching sessions typically consist of 50-60 minute appointments by telephone.
Phone sessions save you time since you don't have to commute. They also make life
coaching available almost anywhere, so you and I don't have to live in the same
city. Also, many people feel a more comfortable speaking over the phone rather than
in person, to more freely communicate ideas and express their needs.
At the end of each coaching session, you are given agreed upon assignments as homework,
to practice and integrate what was discussed in our session. Some of these are written
assignments, yet many are skills to practice within your daily life.

How Would I Know if
Coaching is Right for Me?
Coaching is a mutual relationship, meaning that in order for you to make changes
in your life you need to be an active participant. As your coach, I am there to
support and encourage you -- but it's your life and, ultimately, your actions that
will create lasting changes. Ask yourself these questions:
- Am I ready to invest time for myself?
- Can I make and keep appointments to work on the process?
- Am I open to hearing ideas I may not have thought of before?
- Do I have the desire to consistently practice new skills?
- Do I feel that coaching would be the right avenue for me, rather than counseling
or therapy?
- Am I willing to invest financially in my personal growth?
- Am I willing to commit to making changes in my life?
- Am I ready to have what I want?
If you can answer "yes" to these questions, coaching would be the very best step
you could take for yourself.

What Makes You Different
Than Other Coaches?
There are many coaches out there, so choosing one can be a confusing. As you’ll
see in bio,
I have over 20 years experience coaching others to be their best. And being a nurse
and former nursing instructor myself, I understand the challenges nurses face.
